About

Hello!  I’m a Catholic wife/mom trying to live a contemplative life in this busy world. I live in Canada’s capital, Ottawa, Ontario. My blog is intended to be a little haven for those drawn to the contemplative life.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Notre Dame de Bon Secours) is my patroness, and has been the patroness of Contemplative Haven since its inception.  She is my guide and protectress.  She would love to be yours as well.  Just ask her!

I also have a blog called Consecrated to Mary.  I invite you to visit and spend some time with our Blessed Mother, learn about consecration to her Immaculate Heart, and become acquainted with the many Marian resources listed there.

“Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.  Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother.  To thee I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.  O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me.  Amen.”

I am also a lay apostle of Jesus Christ the Returning King:

The Lay Apostolate of Jesus Christ the Returning King is a new movement in the Catholic Church.  This movement calls people to greater personal unity with Jesus Christ.  As we become more aware of His presence, accepting His love and healing, we are then able to bring His light and love to those around us.  By allowing Jesus to love others through us, we call them back into the safety of the family of God.  Jesus calls this a rescue mission for souls.  It involves people accepting their call to both personal holiness and service in the Church.

For more information about this apostolate, please visit the website of Direction for Our Times.  You can also go to the “Category” section in my sidebar and look under DFOT, Lay Apostles of Jesus Christ the Returning King and/or The Messages for my posts in recent years.

This is the Contemplative Haven prayer basket.  If you have a prayer request, you can email me.  Just send it to contemplativehaven, at hotmail, dot com. All prayer requests are strictly confidential.

May God bless you and guide you in your contemplative life.
