Something’s Afoot In My Mary Garden

Just moments before this, Mrs. Groundhog had raised herself on her hind legs, put her paws on Mother Mary’s shoulders, and gave Her a big smooch on the forehead. I ran in to get the camera, but of course, the moment was lost. Mrs. Groundhog, apparently having received a blessing, had turned her back on Mother Mary and, still on her hind legs, was munching away at my flowers.

I’m naming her Grace. What the heck. 🙂

  1. “grace is the smell of rain” – can’t recall what song that line is from…an old Terry Scott Taylor line I think and being a massive reader may well have borrowed it from some one like W.Blake. Well, all the best to you and your Grace.

  2. In the movie “Groundhog Day” the day kept repeating over and over. In that case you could have waited until tomorrow and grabbed your photo of one of nature’s own honoring Mary. Alas, your memory will have to suffice. But a pleasant memory it will be.

  3. And to think that the Lord specifically built this little chuckle into our lives, perhaps first for Mary’s eyes, then Gab’s, and now ours.

And until now, I had thought your Mary statue was HUGE, lol.

  4. Well, I don’t know the song, Owen, and I’ve never seen that movie, Terry, so that doesn’t make for very interesting conversation on my part, does it? 🙂 I haven’t seen little Grace for quite a while. I hope that supermoth didn’t scare her off. C, my Mary statue is about, I don’t know, maybe 2.5 feet tall. We have her up a bit off the ground on rocks and earth.
